ECU has launched a $2m AUD Student Support Package to assist current students with financial hardship - this is also available for international students. The scheme includes:

Access to ECU Support Grants of up $2,000: this fund is for students who have been significantly disadvantaged by COVID-19. Funds of up to $2000 per student will be made available dependent on eligibility;

Hardship Payment Scheme: All international students who are suffering financial difficulty are automatically eligible for a payment plan for their semester 1 tuition fees, with due dates automatically extended to 1 May 2020;

IT Assistance: loan laptops and data packs are available to support ECU students without access to the required equipment for remote online learning;

Grocery grants: ECU Student Guild is providing a limited number of $50 grocery e-vouchers. Priority will be given to international students who are not eligible for Centrelink payments.

Parking fees waived: ECU is offering full refunds on Semester 1 and Full Year parking permits.

Currently, on the advice of the Australian Government, ECU campuses remain open, with essential services such as ECU libraries operating and social distancing in place;
No ECU student will be disadvantaged by changes to our teaching delivery as a result of COVID-19. ECU has developed a range of resources to support students to not only adjust but also ultimately thrive in the new environment;
There is added flexibility with the removal of a standard exam block for semester 1, 2020. Also, the assignment extensions have changed from seven to 21 days;
The majority of ECU units are now being delivered in an online environment, with a range of virtual support initiatives to help with the transition;
We have received clarification from DoHA that online studies are permitted to Student Visa holders due to the exceptional circumstances.
